The Autumn TV Binge!

It's official; Autumn has arrived!

Strictly fever has hit, and the big white tent has once again got the nation baking.

So draw the curtains, get the candles lit, snuggle up on the sofa in front of the box with your Bake Off attempt and put on 'that' series . . . the one you watch time and time again, your all-time favourite, or the one you make out you have seen but haven't yet, or maybe the new one everyone has been talking about.

We always opt for a psychological thriller, something gritty and a little disturbing; you know the type, a poop your pants jump scare or something that makes you check behind you when climbing the stairs.

To get you in the cosy mood, we have put together 5 of our favourite binge watchable T.V shows, shows you can watch throughout Autumn, with enough drama and suspense to take you up to Halloween.

How to get away with murder

6 Seasons. American legal thriller.

Despite being out since 2014 we only got around to watching this last year, then we binge-watched the whole 6 seasons in a month. (It was lockdown so it was allowed.) A gripping watch staring Viola Davies as Analise Keeting, a professor and criminal defence lawyer, who, along with her students, becomes embroiled in murder, corruption and deception in the most disturbing of ways. The entire series is packed full of twists and turns that make this great Autumn viewing.

You

2 Seasons. Thriller

Starring Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg. You follow the twisted life of an obsessive young man and his psychopathic inclinations. An unsuspecting book shop manager, Joe cleverly inserts himself into the lives of women he becomes infatuated with, with no good outcome.

Despite the grotesqueness that is Joe, he somehow manages to make you like him and by the end of season 2, you are strangely in his corner. The new season trailer promises another twisted tale.

So excited for Season 3 that aires in the U.K on October 15th.

Elementary

7 Seasons. American crime drama.

Starring Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Joan Watson.

Based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle this is one of our all-time favourites. A modern take on a classic; this series has some of the best writing delivered in the most fantastic ways. Johnny Lee Miller portrays the genius that is Sherlock Holmes with all the quirks and anti-social traits that make him oddly relatable. With the help of Joan Watson a former surgeon, who becomes his loyal friend and professional partner, they assist the NYPD in solving crimes of a difficult nature. Every episode draws you in with its clever whodunit storylines.

So sad it ended, but we will continue to watch over and over again.

Locke and Key

1 Season. Fantasy Drama

Based on the comics by Joe Hill (Son of Stephen King) and Gabriel Rodrigues.

This fantasy drama was an unexpected goody. It follows the lives of three siblings dealing with the aftermath of their father's murder. They move to 'Keyhouse', the fathers family home, where things take a turn toward the supernatural. The youngest of the three, played by Jackson Robert Scott, finds a key that shifts reality. The dark past of the house and the people that lived there soon begin to surface. The season is left on a cliffhanger. Needless to say, we can't wait for season 2 that aires in the U.K on October 22nd. Season 3 has also been filmed, so we can only presume the end of season 2 will have you biting those nails.

Haunting of Hill House (sister show Haunting of Bly

Manor)

1 Season. Horror

This single-season supernatural horror had us watching through our fingers.

Set in modern-day America, you follow the return of the Crain siblings to their family home, known as the most haunted in the country. The series switches back and forth between two timelines, seeing them as children witnessing disturbing events and re-witnessing them as adults. A totally immersive jump scare that leaves you feeling like you haven't taken a breath. We will be watching this one again soon, but not on our own!

If you have seen them already, we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

If not, snuggle up, put on the T.V and give them a go. Happy Viewing!
