Life on the longshore

To live by the coast was the dream and in 2019 we made it a reality. At the risk of sounding cliché . . . 'Its a wonderful life'.

Our way of living has changed. Barefoot walks in the shallows are a daily ritual and

paddle boarding has replaced the usual mundane.

Come rain, wind or shine you will find us treading the sands . . . barefoot . . . in flip-flops or chunky boots - depending on the season.

In the warmer months our little sleepy village bursts into life with holidaymakers and sun worshipers.

A colourful feast for the eyes, with boats moored in the dock and shacks in stripes of white, blue and yellow.

We sit and people watch, sketching, writing, reading, enjoying the aromas of garlic and seafood wafting from the beachfront restaurants.

The sea calms as the evening draws to an end.

We stand on the last sliver of cold sand skipping stones into the water (at least . . . we try!)

It never gets old!

The bright orange night sky promises another beautiful day to come.

When Autumn beckons we barely see a soul. The beach becomes our extended

garden . . . bleak, vast and breathtaking.

The village once again belongs to the locals.

Quiet descends as the days become shorter and the offshore winds bite.

The view is ever-changing, but one thing remains constant . . . we love this place!
