Beaches, Bars and Beyond...!

Just popping to town . . . if you've got a minute, fancy a stroll?

Voted one of the most beautiful places in the world, the harbour town of Tenby is renowned for being the jewel in Pembrokeshire's crown.

Blue flag beaches, golden sands and clear blue waters; it is easy to understand why so many holidaymakers choose it as their number one destination.

Before we called this place home, this pretty colourful town was our holiday magnet too; drawing us back year after year.

We would mark out our territory on the sand with a six-foot square beach mat, lay down the towels, pump up inflatables and ready the seemingly endless picnic; the day was ours.

Pink shouldered and tired eyed, our little caravan beckoned. A brief pause to nap, wash away the sand between our toes and get ready for a night out. So many bars and restaurants to chose from, all offering a multitude of cuisines and craft ales . . . such happy memories!

Whilst we still enjoy beach days, we see so much more now that it's our everyday!

Independent retailers tucked away down narrow alleys. Winding arcades and cobble streets edged with ancient kerbs and gulleys.

Small doorways and tall Georgian buildings all hinting at an interesting past. Steep, rugged cliffs with hotels perched precariously at their edge, their walls woven into the 13th-century castle that wraps the town.

As you pass the shops with sweets, treats and artisan delights, take a moment and glance upwards, see the history that you didn't know was there; intricate detailing, commemorative plaques that remind you, you are walking in the footsteps of greatness.

It is so much more than beaches and bars; it is the beyond . . . the quaint perfection that makes up Tenby.

So, next time you pop to town, take us with you! as it is all there to see if you have a little perspective!
